I had the pleasure of taking Mrs Amaden-Crawford's draping class back at FIDM back in 1995. Some of my best work as student came taking her. The classes accompanied with her books helps pick up the process of draping with ease.
I took a class from Connie a few years ago and she has been a role model ever since. I have all her books they are great. Hope your doing well.
As a student at FIDM back in 1990-92, I learned more about patternmaking from Connie than from any of my other teachers. Most importantly, she helped me love it. I went on to enjoy a career as a very successful patternmaker. Even though I've tried to change careers, I keep getting roped back in because there's a real shortage of good patternmakers. She is the best at teaching, I'd highly recommend her classes.
I've been looking for pattern for my mom for years that would look good on her thank to coni I found one on Ebay Got and love. Now hopefully I will make them for so friends.
Connie Crawford has the best-fitting patterns. Period. She knows her stuff, too. If you ever have the chance to go to one of her presentations, and especially to be fitted by her, DO IT!!!
I have been a fan since Feb 2008 in Fort Myers, FL when I tried on a muslin of her first large bust top. It fit, no gaps at the armholes! I bought her 4 top block set then went out to buy all the patterns I could find. I made 11 in quick succession with 10 successes. The least successful was my fault, a poor choice of fabric. I will buy no other.
Connie spent 2 days in Erie, PA. It was wonderful!!! I was on a high for 2 weeks. It was a great learning experience. Every garment sewer should spend time with Connie and soak up her vast knowledge.
These patterns are beyond awesome !!! They allow us plus size ladies to dress ourselves in fashionable, stylish clothes that fit marvelously. Thank you for all that you do Coni.
Looking forward to some exercise attire !!!!
I just enjoyed three days of Connie's lectures in Cincinnati. Thanks so much for coming to town and sharing your vast knowledge of the fashion industry. I am so glad that your passion in life was measuring and designing patterns for very large women, and men. I feel like I finally got the right information to go forth and create. Feel better and safe travels.
Connie just spent 3 days in Cincinnati working with the home sewers in our area!! I have to say, it was wonderful. We learned so much about patterns and we are now all going to be able to have patterns that properly fit our bodies!!!!! If you ever have this opportunity, DO IT! If you don't have the opportunity, her books and patterns are also great and full of extremely good information. Thanks Connie for giving back, my joy for fashion sewing. BYE BYE QUILTS!
Spent 4 fabulous days with Connie and friends in Ann Arbor - lots of fantastic pattern drafting, fitting and designing information. If you get the chance to attend any of Connie's classes, I highly recommend you do so. Her books and videos are great resources. After numerous attempts with other methods, I finally have a set of well fitting blocks that I can now create an entire wardrobe from using her patternmaking book - woo hoo!!!!
Awesome. I love the plus size patterns and I hope this will continue for the plus size people past a 3X in size be it top or bottom. They've given hope to plus size people we sew.
Thanks Connie. You really inspire me.
I am so glad for this pattern line. I have a slacks drafting booklet from the Orange County Fall Festival with which I made the best fitting slacks ever for myself. I have several patterns from this line and like them all.
Connie is the person who introduced me to fitting patterns and then drafting them myself. Her books and teaching are superb!!!!
