IN-STUDIO SEMINARS

Plan a vacation or holiday at a private seminar held in Connie’s personal studio in beautiful Hansville, Washington!
(Check the “Schedule” section at the top of the screen to see when studio seminars are available.)

2-DAY PATTERNMAKING SEMINAR
PRIVATE APPOINTMENTS WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE THE FOLLOWING WEEK AFTER EACH SEMINAR
(See below for details of the private appointments.)

Take an inspirational college level fitting and patternmaking workshop with a master! Connie will present many “tricks of the trade” that she learned through her 35 years in the garment industry.

She will illustrate fitting by draping on a custom dress form and a live model to demonstrate creating correct fit and pattern balance. 5 basic pattern blocks will be drafted and draped on a person in the class. This up-to-date draping approach results in the fit everyone is looking for -- true-to-body fit! Connie will also demonstrate how to make a custom dress form and arm that will assist the fitting process of sleeves.

Throughout the workshop you will learn styling details, patternmaking techniques and fitting solutions for ANY FIGURE SIZE for dresses, sleeves, blouses, shirts, pants, and skirts. You will also learn how to identify and use garment details such as collars, cuffs, plackets, necklines, and other accent pieces to create the finished look you desire. Most importantly, Connie will demonstrate a pants/skirt draft and the fitting process for ALL SIZES, yet with a unique custom touch.

You will learn how to check pattern fit quickly and easily before cutting your fashion fabric. You will learn to interchange pattern pieces to develop new styles from your favorite patterns. Imagine being able to create garments that drape beautifully on your body--no gaping necklines and button closures, no badly fitting sleeves, no huge collars, and no slacks that twist when worn! By applying these skills learned, you will once again enjoy creating a wardrobe of your own personal fashion that will allow your own creative designs come to life.
